Information Security Management

Programme Overview

You will examine the fundamental principles of computer security as applied to information technology (IT). You will learn the foundations, psychology, prevention, detection, human factors, technical considerations, management processes, and future considerations for the security of information technology. This course also addresses contemporary security issues, including security management processes, architectures and models, risk analysis and management, security planning, analysis and safeguards and security policies development and administration. Other topics may include a contingency.

Analyse the needs for Information Security Management (ISM) and Risk Management (RM) in the enterprise.

Assess the security threats faced by modern businesses and the challenge of securing the organisation. 

Apply the key concepts of information security management and why they are important to prevent security breaches.

Analyse the key components of information security control to properly develop security frameworks for an organisation.

Apply best practices related to key IT controls and technologies that help defend an organisation.

Design incident management and contingency plans to support information security management within a business.
